Art Contest Results

Before we announce the winners, we’d like to say a few words. There were a lot of amazing entries, and selecting the best ones wasn’t easy. We also want to reveal how the works were judged — because, both from our experience and from participating in various contests ourselves, we know how unclear results can sometimes feel. What were they based on? Why did these entries win?

Main criteria:

🔸 Idea
Illustration is primarily about telling a story, not just being a pretty picture. This includes how well the work fits the theme, and how original/cool/funny/deep the idea is. In short: what’s the concept behind it, and does it catch your eye?

🔸 Technique
How well the work is executed. In illustration, the most important thing is consistency — how the style fits the story, how all the elements come together to support the atmosphere. Of course, complexity and attention to detail matter too.

⚠️ A quick note on 3D renders:
placing models in Blender is definitely easier than learning to draw, even at a basic level. But since illustration is about building a coherent, well-functioning visual story, we’re much stricter with composition and execution in 3D submissions.

🔸 Recognizability of STALCRAFT: X
It’s important: last year, we saw technically great or conceptually clever pieces that only felt related to STALCRAFT: X after a lot of squinting.

Each judge also had one Super Like, which gave a bonus point to an artwork they felt especially strong about — and it often made a difference in final rankings.

The works of the top 5 winners of each nomination will be posted in a special stand right in the game.
Top 3 entries from the RU region and works which were placed 1st from the Global regions in each nomination will also be added to the Hideout for crafting.

All the awards will be sent to the in-game mail within 30 business days since the results' announcement.
